Asuka's friend and classmate of Shinji.Represents the world young women in the series along with Asuka with their complicity and secrets, showing the simple things in life at school, through friendship. Throughout the series, is found to be in love with her classmate Toji Suzuhara. It is the connection to the real world of one of the main female protagonists, outside the scope of NERV and the Evas.
