The sixth Angel, Gaghiel, is a giant aquatic being with a large jaw full of sharp teeth. Its length is considerable: a little larger than an aircraft carrier. It has a little face similar to that of Sachiel, on his forehead, and his heart is in your mouth. It is extremely strong, and can use their fins to damage armored ships. Unlike its predecessors, does not generate an AT field visible.
Gaghiel attacked the Pacific fleet of the United Nations while wearing Evangelion Unit 02, along with the embryonic form of Adam (the latter secretly) to NERV. Gaghiel looking for Adam, but since their presence was a secret (apparently even Seele), NERV said the aim of Angel was the EVA-02. Got damaging or destroying at least one third of the fleet.
Fought Gaghiel Unit 02, piloted jointly by Asuka Langley Soryu Shinji Ikari and his first battle together. Asuka Angel tried to fight without being prepared his unit for combat in the water, and once they are being thrown into the sea, were at his mercy, and I caught it in his mouth. Misato devised a plan, which was to make the angel engulfed two battleships through the EVA would open his mouth and then shoot all the guns against its core, located at the mouth. This, along with self-destruction of the two ships, killed Angel.
In the manga, Gaghiel only appears in a video that shows Akagi Ritsuko to Misato, Rei and Shinji, in Unit 02 that it caused great damage to his progressive knife, being crowned by the fire of the fleet in a manner similar to the anime.
Gaghiel means, literally, a roaring beast of God. It looks similar to the Leviathan encrypted, and gets its name from the Angel Fish (魚の Sakana no Tenshi .)
