The fourteenth Angel, Zeruel, is a creature floating in black, orange and white as great as the EVAs, but not human limbs and a deformed-looking skull and face.
Zeruel has a very intense beam attack that, like that of Sachiel, an explosion in a cross, but much more powerful and capable of (apparently) throwing in bursts of four, or in the form of a small beam short range. His arms are flat, like paper, and can use them as sharp short-range weapons.These arms are deployed blade unfolding his shoulders, and have a small slit at its end, as if the separation between the forefinger and thumb on one hand. Zeruel was initially directed towards the Geo-Front, opening a hole in the 18 layers of shielding enclosure with a single shot. After the battle, it was discovered that Shinji, having achieved over 400% synchronization, had become LCL in the entry plug and was merged with Unit 01. However, mysteriously manages to leave the EVA and reintegrate into his body, while Misato lamented the fate of the boy.
Rebuild of Evangelion Zeruel has more sharp appendages in which is wrapped like a mummy when attacking, they unwind and have the same function as the original arms. The Angel is far more agile and faster than in the series, and his torso is different, lacking the old colors, and having it made by the aforementioned bands. Zeruel means Arm of God it can also refer to his exceptional skill in battle or use of his arm by the unit 01. Also: In Japanese, the word God (神), Paper (纸), and Hair (髪) read the same (かみ, or kami gami), which could account for their additions of paper. Named after the Angel Force(力の Tenshi no Chikara .)
- Many theorize on the fact that the ingestion of the core S ² of that Angel, the EVA unit 01 obtained one, being that many times it has entered into so berserk, it was because activist courts than their own are evident, as in the second episode of the anime.
