Neon Genesis Evangelion(新世紀 Shin Seiki Evangerion, also known as "Evangelion") is a series of Japanese anime and manga. [1] The series is about a future world in which a military organization called NERV protects humanity from the attacks of beings of unknown origin called "angels", using this giant biomechanical robots called "EVA." As the series progresses it becomes increasingly confused and psychological, where the development of the characters, their personalities (fears, desires) is essential.
The anime has 26 episodes produced in 1995 by the Gainax studio, directed by Hideaki Anno. Several spin-offs, tank tops, movies and games complement the story or offer an alternative reality series.
The director, Hideaki Anno, has stated that the development of the series was inspired by his own experience, under which the characters in the series show a wide range of emotional disorders and personality.
This series has been classified in the genres science fiction dystopia wick and containing various elements of philosophy, psychology and religion, with strong influences Abrahamic.
