Evangelion Unit 05 (Gogōki)
As seen in the second movie of Rebuild of Evangelion a new version of the unit 05 is shown, being defined as "provisional." It has a dark green color orange sides and a white torso mostly minor parts in orange and gray.Appearance has mechanical arms and a clamp and a spear instead of hands. The classic rectangular shoulders high in the EVA are present, but they have this time a kind of antennas that can be used for energy by contact, making it without umbilical cord. The head of the unit has a gray helmet with a large lump on his forehead, below the orange which has a visor over his eyes, and mandible (when exposed) are distinguished metal teeth. This unit displays a strange and unusual configuration with four legs centauroide mechanical aspect retrorockets and finished in a kind of wheels. Due to its small humanoid design, the pilot must wear a helmet and special wristbands connected by cables inside the Entry Plug.

This unit appears in Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, which is the angel sent to stop attacking the base of Bethany of NERV in the Arctic, where previously had been captured.Illustrious Mari piloted by Makinami, Unit 05 damaged, losing two of its four legs, and finally self-destructed to destroy the Angel, was expelled the Entry Plug of the Mari inside.
- It is still unknown the real significance of his appointment "provisional", but is believed to be a reference to the EVA was activated even though the basis of Bethany was still waiting for installation components.
- The poster of the movie release of Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance shows a graph indicating "local specifications model 05", so it is clear that these specifications are the cause of the curious design of the unit 05.
